QR codes popular enough to be a risk

The popularity of QR codes has meant they are becoming the target of scammers, reports the Denver Post. Consumers may be aware of the dangers of viruses and malware attacks, but many are scanning in QR codes without realising they could be opening their phones to malicious code.
