An interesting post from the New York Times on Amazon’s future relationship with writers.

Interesting mostly for this one quote: “If you don’t have a relationship, you can be cut out, and this is what Amazon knows and what writers are learning.”

How long before Amazon offers a YouTubesque self-publishing model and leases out its marketing function to writers just as it leases out its distribution functions to publishers?
